David Spence, OD, split his youth in North York and Thornhill, Ontario, and is a product of the Toronto Catholic District School Board. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science majoring in toxicology with a physiology minor in 1996.For twelve years as a certified ophthalmic medical technologist, he assisted several ophthalmologists, mostly at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He then pursued optometry and graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. He has also served patients in Washington DC, Memphis, TN, and in Houston. He has passed national boards in Canada and the USA. His main focus is:
1. helping patients see and understand their vision comfortably,
2. pre- and postoperative care,
3. refractive surgery, and,
4. multifocal contact lenses.
Dr. Spence is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Spence is an avid reader, pianist and cyclist. Besides Toronto sports teams, Netflix is his biggest vice. He cherishes leisure time with his wife and son in Grimsby, Ontario
